This year, as our country prepares to mark the 70th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, the
Kittanning Firemen’s Band would like to honor our World War II veterans by performing a special concert for the
veterans at their World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. The band would also like to invite any World War II
veterans who have not seen or experienced the monument to join it for the concert, which is planned for July 9.
The anniversary of the attack holds a special significance for the band, as the march “America Forever”, written
in hours immediately after the attack, was penned by James V. Colonna, the father of the Kittanning Firemen’s Band’s
first director, Enrico Colonna.
While the trip is completely free for WWII veterans, a coach bus (the Patriot Bus) will also be available for any member
of the public who would like to make the day trip to see the concert. Tickets for the Patriot Bus will be available for $65.
Anyone interested in making the trip, please call Bill Steim at 724-548-2328 or by email at wezeandbill@windstream.net.
In addition, any person, business, or organization that would like to make a donation to help fund the trip, please make checks
payable to KF Band Memorial Trip Fund and send them to:
